Yes, you can still use Windows 10 after October 14,2025, but it will no longer receive free security updates from Microsoft after that date. To stay secure, you can either upgrade to Windows 11 for free if your PC is eligible or enroll in the paid Extended Security Updates (ESU) program for critical and important security updates for one extra year until October 2026.

What happens on October 14, 2025

Windows 10 will continue to function: Your computer will still work, but it will become more vulnerable to security threats since Microsoft will stop providing security fixes and new features.
No more technical support: Microsoft customer service will no longer provide technical support for Windows 10.
Microsoft 365 Apps continue to work: While Windows 10 support ends, the Microsoft 365 Apps will continue to function on the OS, although security updates for the apps themselves will end in October 2028.

Options for staying secure

Upgrade to Windows 11: If your PC is eligible, this is the recommended option for long-term security and access to new features. You may have already received a notification from Microsoft about this possibility.
